"Hunter's Burial" (back view) 49"H x 52"L x 24 1/2"W Sandcast Glass with
Cast Glass Inclusions and Cast Glass Onlays. The impressions on the large casting are a human skeleton as well as a grizzly bear jawbone. The images that are drawn directly onto the sand were taken from the Chauvet cave in the Ardeche Valley in southern France. The original images are over 30,000 years old. The "smaller" casting is from the Leo Rex Mandible Series and contains pictograph drawings from Chauvet as well as Tanzania. This casting is in the shape of an African lions jawbone and is about 2 - 3 times life size. |
