The figures inside the casting are from petroglyph sites in Europe, Africa and Australia.
"Odysseus", on the left, is from the Valltorta rock art site in Castellon, Spain; the central figure of "Penelope" is from a site in North Western Australia; the suitors on the right are from the Christmas Shelter site in the Natal area of Drakensberg, South Africa.
